Call for Proposal for Bidding for 13th (2028) Congress
Introduction
The Annual Congress of the APWA is held every year, usually in the fourth quarter. All APWA paid-up Full member can apply to host the Annual Congress and be the Convenor.
Notice to call for proposal for bidding Annual Congress to all APWA paid-up full members every year before 5 months of coming Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Application form and required documents should be submitted to Secretariat Office on or before the deadline for Congress Committee review and recommend potential candidate to Executive board consideration and make final decision to confirm coming 2 years Annual Congress hosting location and Congress Convenor.

Target Applicant
All APWA Paid-up Full members, who lives in a city belonging to an Asia-pacific country or region
- Orthopaedic / Plastic / Hand Surgeon, with a high influence in the local country or region
- Priority will be given to whom has extensive experiences in organizing medical education conferences and is able to use the local resources for conference and workshop.
Proposal Instructions
Applicant Must:
- Be APWA Paid-up Full Member
- Be a Certified Orthopaedic / Plastic / Hand Surgeon in your own Country
- Speak fluent English
- Active in the clinical practice and research of wrist disorders
- Capable and available for organizing the Congress
- Support from the senior manager of your institution and an APWA Executive Board Member
- Submit a written Proposal within 3 months to the Secretary General of APWA

- Completed Application Form
- One Personal Statement (in English) not exceeding 500 words, detailing why you want to hold the APWA Congress and what you can offer to the Congress
- Curriculum Vitae
- Annual Congress Proposal, including
• Recommendation letters
• Supporting letter from Institute/hospital
• Introduction of Organizer (city, institution/hospital/society)
• Information of proposed conference and cadaver workshop venue
• Any relevant experience of the Convenor and Organizing Committee members in hosting
international/local academic meetings or cadaver workshops
• Supporting organizations (department, hospital, university, government, society etc.)
• Information regarding the city, tourism, accommodation and transportation
• Funding support and sponsorship details
• Other supporting documents
Declaration
- Once you submit a proposal for the APWA congress, the Congress Committee will review the application,
and undertake due diligence on the proposal. The Chair of the Conference Committee will advise the
executive of the Board of the list of all applications, and their recommended short list. - After review by the executive the Chair of the Conference Committee will advise all applicants of their
status.
Note
All shortlisted applicants are required to present their proposal in 5 minutes in the coming Executive Board meeting and result will be announced in October 2023.
Successful applicant is required to give presentation in the coming Annual General Meeting in Hong Kong.
