Secretary’s Message
Dear friends and colleagues
We have witnessed the historic moment, the establishment of the Asia Pacific Wrist Association (APWA) and the inaugural congress of APWA at Hong Kong last year. During the First Congress of APWA, we are so exciting that our bid for the Second Congress of APWA was awarded. Since then, we have been working hard to stage a best possible Congress.
It is our great honor to welcome you all to the Second Congress of Asia Pacific Wrist Association, which will be held in Beijing from 15-17 November 2016. Beside the “wrist lovers” from the Asia Pacific, we have worldwide delegations from major hand & wrist Societies, Institutions and Journals. Also, you may attend several pre and post Congress events, including 2016 Beijing International Wrist Arthroscopy Workshop (15 November) and 2016 Congress of Chinese Orthopedic Association (COA) on 17-20 November.I wish the participants a very fruitful and productive Meeting this year in Beijing.
In closing, may I quote a word from the founding president of our association, Prof. PC Ho from Hong Kong Prince of Wales Hospital, “We believe as time goes on, wrist surgery will get even more exciting and fascinating. Imagine that arthroscopy becomes bread and butter for everyone, minimal invasive surgery is the norm for all, wrists no longer need to be fused, cartilage can regrow, and ligament can heal predictably. We believe that with our conjoint effort and enthusiasm, all these will no longer be dreams one day.”
Look forward to seeing you in Beijing, one of the most popular cities in the world, the capital city of six dynasties, the mysterious city defended by the Great Wall, the charming city with fabulous Chinese food.
Prof. Dr. Shan-lin CHEN,
Congress Chairman,
General Secretary of APWA,
Ji Shui Tan Hospital, Beijing
